A CIRCLE OF THE PEACE (“the Shop”) recognizes the importance of protecting our customers’ personal information and, while complying with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (“the Personal Information Protection Act”), strives to handle and protect personal information appropriately in accordance with the following Privacy Policy (“this Privacy Policy”).
1. Definition of Personal Information
In this Privacy Policy, “personal information” means personal information as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Information Protection Act — that is, information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, or other description contained in the information (including information that can be readily collated with other information and thereby identify the specific individual), or information that contains an individual identification code.
2. Purposes of Use of Personal Information
The Shop uses customers’ personal information for the following purposes:
(1) To provide the Shop’s services;
(2) To respond to inquiries and provide guidance regarding the Shop’s services;

(6) To improve the Shop’s services and develop new services;
(7) To create statistical data processed into a form that cannot identify individuals;
(8) For other purposes incidental to the above.
3. Changes to the Purposes of Use
The Shop may change the purposes of use of personal information within a scope reasonably deemed to have relevance, and will notify or announce any such change to customers.
4. Restrictions on Use of Personal Information
Except as permitted by the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws, the Shop will not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use without the customer’s consent, except in the following cases:
(1) When based on laws and regulations;
(2) When necessary to protect a person’s life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the customer’s consent;
(3) When especially necessary to improve public health or promote the sound upbringing of children, and it is difficult to obtain the customer’s consent;
(4) When it is necessary to cooperate with a national agency, local government, or a party entrusted by them in performing duties prescribed by law, and obtaining consent may impede those duties.
5. Proper Acquisition of Personal Information
The Shop acquires personal information properly and does not acquire it by deception or other wrongful means.
6. Security Management of Personal Information
The Shop provides necessary and appropriate supervision of its employees to ensure the security management of personal information against risks such as loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage. When the Shop entrusts all or part of the handling of personal information to a third party, it also provides necessary and appropriate supervision of that party.
7. Provision to Third Parties
Except where disclosure is permitted under the Personal Information Protection Act or other laws, the Shop will not provide personal information to third parties without the customer’s prior consent. However, the following do not constitute provision to a third party:
(1) When personal information is provided as a result of entrusting all or part of its handling within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use;
(2) When personal information is provided as a result of a business succession due to merger or other reasons;
(3) When personal information is used jointly in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
8. Disclosure of Personal Information
When a customer requests disclosure of personal information based on the Act, the Shop will, after confirming the request is from the customer, disclose it without delay (and will notify the customer if such information does not exist). This does not apply where the Shop is not obligated to disclose under applicable law.
9. Correction of Personal Information
When a customer requests correction, addition, or deletion (“Correction, etc.”) of personal information on the grounds that it is not true, the Shop will, after confirming the request is from the customer, conduct the necessary investigation without delay within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use, make the Correction, etc. based on the results, and notify the customer (or notify the customer if it decides not to make the Correction). This does not apply where the Shop is not obligated under applicable law.
10. Suspension of Use of Personal Information
When a customer requests suspension of use or erasure (“Suspension of Use, etc.”) on the grounds that the information is handled beyond the announced purposes of use or was acquired wrongfully, and the request is found to be justified, the Shop will, after confirming the request is from the customer, suspend use without delay and notify the customer. This does not apply where the Shop is not obligated under applicable law.
