Privacy policy

A CIRCLE OF THE PEACE ("we" or "us") knows that it is important to protect your personal information. We follow the Act on the Protection of Personal Information of Japan (the "Act") and this Privacy Policy, and we handle and protect your personal information carefully.

1. What is personal information

In this Privacy Policy, "personal information" means personal information as defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Act. This is information about a living person that can identify that person, such as a name or date of birth. It also includes information that can identify a person when it is easily matched with other information, and information that includes an individual identification code.

2. How we use your personal information

We use your personal information for these purposes:

  1. To provide our services
  2. To give you information about our services and to answer your questions
  3. To tell you about our products and services
  4. To deal with actions that break our terms and policies (the "Terms")
  5. To tell you about changes to our Terms
  6. To improve our services and to create new services
  7. To make statistics that cannot identify any person
  8. For other purposes related to the purposes above

3. Changes to how we use your information

We may change the purposes of use, but only to purposes that are reasonably related to the original purposes. If we make a change, we will tell you or announce it.

We will not use your personal information beyond the purposes above without your consent, unless the Act or other laws allow it. However, we may do so in these cases:

  2. When it is necessary to protect a person's life, body or property, and it is difficult to get your consent
  3. When it is especially necessary for public health or for the healthy growth of children, and it is difficult to get your consent
  4. When we need to help a government office, a local government or a person working for them do work required by law, and asking for your consent may cause problems for that work

5. How we collect information

We collect personal information in a fair way. We do not collect it by lying or by any other wrong method.

6. Keeping your information safe

We supervise our staff carefully to protect your personal information from loss, damage, changes and leaks. When we ask another company to handle personal information for us, we also supervise that company carefully.

7. Sharing with third parties

We will not give your personal information to any third party without your consent, unless the Act or other laws allow it. The following cases are not "sharing with a third party":

  1. When we ask another company to handle personal information for us, within the purposes of use
  2. When personal information is passed on because of a merger or another business transfer
  3. When we use personal information together with others as the Act allows

8. Showing your information to you

If you ask us to show you your personal information under the Act, we will check that the request is from you and then show it to you without delay. If we do not have the information, we will tell you. This does not apply when the law does not require us to show it.

9. Correcting your information

If your personal information is not correct and you ask us to correct, add or delete it under the Act, we will check that the request is from you. We will then check the facts without delay, within the purposes of use, and correct the information if needed. We will tell you the result, including when we decide not to make the change. This does not apply when the law does not require us to make the change.

10. Stopping the use of your information

If you ask us to stop using or to delete your personal information because we used it beyond the announced purposes or collected it in a wrong way, and your request is reasonable, we will check that the request is from you. We will then stop using or delete the information without delay and tell you. This does not apply when the law does not require us to do so.

11. Cookies and similar technology

Our services may use cookies and similar technology. They help us understand how people use our services and help us improve them. You can turn off cookies in your web browser settings. However, some parts of our services may not work if you turn off cookies.

13. Continuous improvement

We will check how we handle personal information from time to time and keep improving it. We may change this Privacy Policy when needed.
